Reminder – 3 Important Deadlines

Please find enclosed three reminders of deadlines coming up:

  1. Athletes’ Commission Elections – deadline for nominations – 26 September 2025
  2. Schedule A 2025 – deadline to submit – 30 September 2025
  3. BWF Administrator Awards – deadline for nominations – 31 October 2025

  1. Nominations – Candidates for Athletes’ Commission Elections 2025

 Further to our Notice of 13 July 2025 (linked here), this is a reminder that the deadline for nominations is Friday 26 September. The Athletes’ Commission (2025 – 2029) elections 2025 will take place in late November.

BWF has published information about the election process in 8 languages – English, Chinese, Indonesian, French, Japanese, Korean, Spanish and Thai.

About the Commission

 6 positions

  • 4-year term – Athletes’ Commission (2025 – 2029).
  • The new Commission elects the Chair and Deputy Chair.
  • The Chair (after the vetting process) becomes a BWF Council member (2025 – 2029).

 

Who can be Candidates for Elections?

 18 years of age or older on 28 November 2025.

  • In ‘good standing’ with their Association / Not serving a period of ineligibility.
  • Active Players – on the top 200 of the BWF World Ranking as of 25 July 2025.
  • Inactive Players – those that have retired from Badminton by not competing in any BWF sanctioned tournaments in the last two years from 25 July 2025 and/or whose Member Association has submitted the Player Retirement Form to the BWF.

 

To be eligible for nomination for election, the Inactive Player must have:

  • Competed in badminton in one or more Olympic Games (Tokyo 2020 / Paris 2024) OR
  • Competed in one or more BWF World Championships in these years 2017 – 2024.

  1. Schedule A Form 2025 – Deadline 30 September 2025

Further to our Notice of 11 June 2025 (linked here), this is a reminder that each Member must submit a Schedule A no later than 30 September 2025.

Each Member is required to complete this form every year and to send this back to Patricia Wong [email protected]  no later than 30 September 2025. This annual submission is a requirement under the BWF constitution.

 Completing and submitting a BWF “Schedule A” form each year is compulsory, and part of your on-going membership requirements.

The form contains information we use to publish on our website, including the names, addresses and contact information of Member Associations and their main officers.

The form also asks for the number of member clubs / associations, the total number of registered players affiliated to the Member and a declaration that the Criteria for Membership (Clause 8 of the BWF Constitution) continues to be met. See and extract of Clause 13 of the BWF Constitution below:

  1. BWF Administrator Awards

BWF is calling for nominations for the BWF Administrator Awards 2025.

 The Administrator Awards recognise excellence, achievement and service to BWF, the sport and to the badminton community. We encourage Member Associations and Continental Confederations to look at the award categories below and consider nominating individuals.

The deadline for nominations is Friday 31 October 2025.

The system of awards is governed by the Award Regulations of the Statutes, Section 1.2.3 (linked here). Each award category has selection criteria, and the regulations defining who can nominate individuals / organisations for each award (see the summary below).

Beyond being a strong role model, the nominee must also have actively contributed to the involvement of others in the promotion of the sport.
