Bid Re-Open for BWF World Junior Championships 2026
Please find below information on the reopening of the bidding process for the BWF World Junior Championships 2026.
The BWF invites Members to submit bids to host the championships. The Request for Proposal (RFP) documents are available below.
Indonesia Withdraws
Badminton Indonesia (PBSI) has relinquished its hosting rights for the BWF World Junior Championships 2026.
PBSI indicated that it was no longer able to stage the event and took the difficult decision in the best interests of all involved.
Bid Process
Members interested in submitting a bid are encouraged to contact the BWF for further information and to receive the ‘Major Championships Host Agreement’ template.
The BWF may also proactively approach Members with prior hosting experience or from emerging markets to participate in the Major Championships Consultation Process.
Key Timelines
- 28 February 2026: Deadline for submission of Bid Application to the BWF.
- 15 March 2026: Date by which any necessary site visits are completed and shortlist is prepared for the BWF Council.
- End of Q1 2026: Decision to be made by BWF Council in first quarter 2026. Exact time and more detailed information about the presentation to be announced at a later date. Once Council approves host for BWF World Junior Championships 2026, the Host and BWF will sign.
