3) Recognition and Enforcement of Disciplinary Decisions in Badminton
Decisions by BWF Disciplinary Panels
Disciplinary decisions taken by the Independent Hearing Panel and the Sports Disciplinary Panel are binding throughout the whole badminton community. This means that individuals on the Barred List are prohibited from participating in badminton tournaments or of taking on any other role within a member association.
Role of Member Associations
Member Associations also play a role in the integrity of badminton. According to the Judicial Procedures, Member Associations have a duty to send to the BWF any disciplinary decision taken within their jurisdiction within 14 days from the decision being issued. This allows the BWF to recognise and enforce these decisions at worldwide level.
Notifications should be sent to: [email protected].
The BWF expects to be notified of all decisions relating to ethics, integrity, safeguarding, and other disciplinary matters.
Timely notification ensures consistency, legal certainty, and protection of the sport.
For further information, please see the BWF Website (linked here).
