(Urgent) Call for Candidacies: Audit Commission Members
This is to draw your attention to the BWF’s call for candidacies for Members of its new Audit Commission (linked here).
The deadline is 16 January 2026, so we invite you to forward to potential candidates as soon as possible. Please be mindful of independence requirements (described below).
BWF Audit Commission
The BWF Audit Commission assists the BWF Council through the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee in fulfilling its oversight and governance responsibilities in three key areas:
- Audit and Risk Oversight: Ensuring that the audit process confirms that the BWF maintains effective internal control systems, financial integrity, and compliance with applicable laws and standards.
- Council Remuneration and Benefits: Approving and making recommendations to the Finance, Audit, and Risk Committee in regard to per diems, allowances, honoraria, and other advantages or benefits granted to Council members.
- Gifting: Reviewing the Register of Gifts and making recommendations to the Council in regard to gifts and gifting policy.
Selection Criteria
The Chair and Members of the Audit Commission must have specific expertise and experience around finance, audit and/or risk qualifications, as well as experience of working/advising in the sport sector at national or international level. They must have a strong understanding of internal controls, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
Independence: At least two of the Members of the AC (including the Chair) shall not have any other elected, appointed, or advisory position in any badminton Continental Confederation or Member Association for the past ten years.
