Shuttle Time Senior Programme launched!
Following on the celebration of Shuttle Time’s 15th Year on 24 April, the BWF is proud to launch the BWF Shuttle Time Senior Badminton Programme – the programme designed to support active, healthy ageing through badminton.
Developed in partnership with Coventry University, the programme provides safe, inclusive and enjoyable badminton experiences for adults aged 60 and above—regardless of prior playing experience.
Shuttle Time Senior is a natural extension of the BWF’s “Badminton for Life” philosophy and the global success of the Shuttle Time programme.
What is Shuttle Time Senior?
Shuttle Time Senior is a structured yet flexible programme that enables organisations, instructors and communities to deliver badminton sessions that:
- Improve balance, coordination and mobility
- Promote mental wellbeing
- Combat isolation and improve social connection
- Support lifelong participation in sport
- Align with the WHO Guidelines on Physical Activity and the UN Decade of Healthy Ageing
The programme is built around adapted badminton activities, inclusive delivery principles, and an easy‑to‑follow 8‑session framework.

Participants do not need previous badminton experience.

The Shuttle Time Instructors’ Manual and Instructors’ Online Course will be published in May 2026.
