2026 Refugee Paralympic Team Hopefuls – Call for Expression of Interest
We are pleased to share an opportunity from the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) regarding the 2026 Refugee Paralympic Team (RPT) Hopefuls initiative.
This programme aims to identify and support talented refugee Para athletes on their pathway towards the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games, including access to targeted funding and support.

Key Information
Below is key information about the RPT Hopefuls initiative:
- The programme is open to Para athletes with confirmed refugee status.
- Applications can be submitted by a National Paralympic Committee (NPC) or by the BWF.
- The application period runs from 25 June 2026 to 31 March 2027, with applications reviewed on a rolling basis.
Potential Next Steps
We encourage Member Association and Para Badminton Organisations to:
- Liaise with your National Paralympic Committee and other badminton or disability sport structures nationally to identify any eligible refugee Para badminton player in your country.
- Share this opportunity with relevant stakeholders in your country
