Amendments to the Award Regulations / Reminders – Bids for Major Championships / Integrity Education / Schedule A 2024
- Players Player Award – Amendments to Regulations
Last year, the BWF Council approved two new player awards:
- Players’ Player of the Year Award (Women)
- Players’ Player of the Year Award (Men)
The winners of these two awards each year is decided by the players themselves through a voting process in October / November. The BWF will send out more information on the process in September.
In the meantime, the BWF Council at its meeting on 5 August, made some minor amendments to Clause 2.3.8 to clarify the process of voting:

Further to our Notice of 12 June 2024 (linked here) on the Request for Proposals to host BWF Major Championships 2025–2026, this is a reminder that the deadline to submit is Friday 30 August – this Friday.
The Request for Proposal documents and application forms were sent to the membership in the notice of 12 June – and for convenience, these are linked below.
The following BWF Major Championships are open for application:
- BWF World Senior Championships2025 – includes festival concept (1 Championship).
- BWF World Junior Championships 2026 (1 Championship).
The Request for Proposal documents describe the rights and obligations related to the hosting of the BWF Major Championships, including the commercial structures.

This includes the RFP and the Bid Form specifically for the Festival.

- Integrity Education – Requirements to Participate
Further to our Notice of 14 June and 4 July (see attached), this is a friendly reminder that
every individual player must complete anti-doping education before they participate in the 2024 Championships (teams and/or individuals).
This is an eligibility requirement to participate in the YONEX BWF World Junior Championships 2024 will be hosted in Nanchang, China.
- Mixed Team Championships (Suhandinata Cup) 30 September to 05 October 2024
- Individual Championships (Eye-Level Cups) 07 to 13 October 2024
The deadline to complete – Friday 20 September 2024.

- Schedule A Form 2024 – Deadline 30 September 2024
Thank you to the Members who have submitted their Schedule A for this year.
Each Member is required to complete this form (attached) every year and send it back to Patricia Wong ([email protected]) no later than 30 September 2024. This annual submission is a requirement under the BWF Constitution.
“Schedule A” – is the form submitted annually to the BWF Secretary General which contains information required for purposes of administration and publication including the names, addresses and contact information of its principal officers, the number of member clubs / associations, the total number of registered players affiliated to the Member and a declaration that the provisions of Criteria for Membership (Clause 8 of the BWF Constitution) continue to be met.
