Election Results – BWF Para Badminton Athletes’ Commission (2021-2025)

The elections for the BWF Para Badminton Athletes’ Commission 2021 – 2025 took place online on Friday 11 March 2022.

Eligible players who registered in advance were able to login and vote online from Friday 17:00 to 09:00 Saturday KL time with 151 Para badminton athletes taking part in the vote.

A total of 11 candidates were vying for the 6 vacant positions on the Commission.


BWF Para Badminton Athletes’ Commission Election Results

The election result is decided taking into account a number of factors:

  1. Total votes – received by each candidate.
  2. Gender – male / female candidate with the highest number of votes are elected first.
  3. Sport Class – at least 1 from each – Standing / Wheelchair Sport Classes.
  4. Region – there must be athletes from at least 3 regions.


BWF Para Badminton Athletes’ Commission 2021 – 2025

BWF is pleased to announce the six members of the BWF Para Badminton Athletes’ Commission 2021 – 2025.

The Commission is diverse in its representation of the Para badminton athlete community.

Members come from 3 continental regions, there is gender parity (3 men / 3 women) and 3 members were re-elected from the previous Commission (2017 – 2021) – Daniel Chan, Richard Perot and Raùl Anguiano Araujo.

The new Commission will meet soon and decide their Chair and Deputy Chair amongst the six members. The Chair of the BWF Para Badminton Athletes’ Commission becomes a member of the BWF Council until the next elections in 2025.
