Chair and Deputy Chair

The Commission will meet for the first time in the next few weeks and select a Chair and Deputy Chair.

The new Chair of the Athletes’ Commission will become a BWF Council member and be the voice of the athletes in discussions and decision making by the BWF Council. Athletes’ Commission Chair represents the views of the different groups of players, ensuring their voice is heard and various athlete perspectives taken into consideration.

One Co-opted Member

Under Clause 14.3 of the Guidelines for Council, the Commission has an opportunity to appoint one Co-opted member for the Athletes’ Commission to fill any gap in skill or in representation (gender, region, discipline, performance level). The Co-opted member must:

  1. Be an Active Player, and
  2. Fulfil the full term of the Commission (2025 – 2029)

The Athletes’ Commission makes a recommendation to the BWF President to approve the Co-opted member.
