2025 World Abilitysport Beach Games
The first edition of the 2025 World Abilitysport Beach Games is set to welcome athletes from 18 to 25 October to the picturesque coastline of Mersin, Türkiye, hosting a diverse sport programme of aquatic, open air, and beach sports.
Para AirBadminton (link) joins a sports programme of aquatic, open-air and beach sports and will be hosted alongside Beach ParaVolley, Adaptive Padel, Adaptive Sepak Takraw, Para Inclusive Sailing, Para Modern Pentathlon (Laser Run) and Para Powerlifting.
For those Para players (standing classes) looking to participate, this is a development-based competition and will provide an opportunity to access competitive AirBadminton in a fun and inclusive manner as a part of a Beach Games.
Tournament Information
This Para AirBadminton tournament will be for Standing Classes only (SL3, SL4, SU5 and SH6 athletes). Those wishing to enter will need to have a National Classification. Athletes with an international classification are also welcome to enter. National Classification will also take place in Mersin prior to the tournament.
BWF event class combinations will be followed for all events; however, a flexible approach will be adopted depending upon final entry numbers. There will be the opportunity for players to compete in:
- Team Relay
- Men’s Triples
- Women’s Triples
- Mixed Triples
- Men’s Doubles
- Women’s Doubles
- Mixed Doubles
Note: No singles events will be played at the Games.
Final rules to be circulated ahead of the Games. The tournament will be played in
accordance with the Rules of AirBadminton.
Entry Information
Entries can be made by BWF Member Association, National Paralympic Committees and other organisations. Entries are through World Abilitysport – with entry by number by 27 June 2025.
