Subscriptions due 31 January 2025 / WADA Prohibited List in Force / Other Reminders

Happy New Year from all of us at the BWF office in KL. We would like to wish you a very happy, safe, and successful 2025.

Please find enclosed several reminders for the beginning of January:

1. BWF Subscription due 31 January 2025

Subscriptions for 2025 are due no later than midnight KL time on Friday 31 January 2025.

Please note that players cannot be entered into competitions after 31 January 2025 if the subscription is not paid by the deadline.

Clause 26.6 of the BWF constitution states:

“A subscription shall be payable prior to a Member or its players taking part in competitive events as in Clause 26.1.

“In no circumstances can a Member’s player(s) or a team continue to compete beyond the due date for payment of the subscription, nor can that Member stage a Federation sanctioned tournament”.

Subscription letters and invoices were sent to Members in December 2024.

Please note that the invoice for 2025 was sent directly from the new Netsuite accounting system so the email address looks like the below:

2. Anti-Doping – WADA Prohibited List 2025

The WADA List of Prohibited Substances and Methods 2025 was published in late September last year. The Prohibited List details the substances and methods which are prohibited for athletes. This came into force on 1 January 2025.

Some substances and methods are prohibited in-competition, and others are prohibited at all times (both in-competition and out-of-competition).

Athletes are responsible for everything they eat, drink and take.

3. Tournament Software Public Website Closes – effective 7 January 2024

Further to our Notice of 21 October 2024 (linked here) we wish to remind you that from tomorrow Tuesday 7 January 2025, the following Tournament Software public websites will no longer be available to display BWF tournament data and information:

2. tournamentsoftware.com

Tournament and player information is available on the BWF website and App as per below chart.

As per our communication of 21 October, please ensure you remind your coaches, team managers and players.

NO CHANGE to Members’ Login to the Tournament Software Entry System

Please note there is NO CHANGE to the way Member Associations login to:

1. Register new players;
2. Tournament sanctioning processes;
3. Entry players into sanctioned tournaments.

• bwf.tournamentsoftware.com is still the platform for BWF Member Associations to complete the above tasks.
• There is no change to your back-end access to complete tasks.

4. Key Dates – BWF AGM and Members’ Forum 2025

The BWF Annual General Meeting 2025 will be held on Saturday 26 April 2025 in Xiamen, China, in conjunction with the TotalEnergies BWF Sudirman Cup Finals (27 April – 4 May 2025). The deadline for proposals and nominations was Friday 6 December 2024. The other key dates are:

• Friday 31 January 2025 – Deadline for 2025 subscriptions
• Friday 7 March 2025 – Notice of AGM / agenda / papers / annual report (7 weeks out)
• Friday 21 March 2025 – deadline for amendments to proposals (5 weeks out)
• Friday 25 April 2025 – Members’ Forum 2025
• Saturday 26 April 2025 – BWF AGM 2025 / Elections for Council (2025 – 2029)
• Sunday 27 April – 4 May 2025 – TotalEnergies BWF Sudirman Cup Finals

5. Para Badminton Tournament Cancellation

Please note that the following Para badminton tournament has been cancelled:

• France Para Badminton International – 15-20 April 2024

6. BWF Office Closure – January 2025

The BWF office will be closed on these days to mark national holidays for Chinese New Year in Malaysia:
