Tributes to BWF Umpire Ismail

The Badminton World Federation (BWF) is mourning the loss of BWF umpire Mohammed Nazib Ismail from Bangladesh, who was found unresponsive in his hotel room today. Mr. Ismail, 50, was officiating at the YONEX-SUNRISE Guwahati Masters 2024 in India.

BWF and tournament organisers Badminton Association of India (BAI) offer their deepest condolences to the family and to the Badminton Bangladesh Federation. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.

Mr. Ismail was a BWF umpire since 2016.

The YONEX-SUNRISE Guwahati Masters 2024 is a BWF Tour Super 100 tournament.
