Para Badminton Athlete Integration Current and Former Para Badminton Athletes
Further to the BWF Notice we sent out on 9 October 2024 (see below), this is a friendly reminder that the deadline to respond is Friday 1 November 2024.
Notice of 9 October 2024
Integration of athletes and people with disability in all aspects of badminton is an area of importance for the BWF. The BWF, in partnership with the International Paralympic Committee, will deliver two specialised workshops alongside the HSBC BWF World Tour Finals in Hangzhou, China in December 2024:
- BWF Coach Education Level 1 Course
- BWF Technical Officials Pathway & Line Judge Workshop
These workshops are specifically targeted at current and former Para badminton athletes who have an interest in the areas of coaching or officiating in badminton. The workshops aim to enhance participants knowledge and skills in different facets of badminton beyond only competing, with a goal to retain more athletes within the sport.

Attached you will find additional information on the two workshops, which will be delivered over four days from 09 to 12 December 2024 in conjunction with the HSBC BWF World Tour Finals 2024 in Hangzhou, China. Please see the criteria in the attached – here
Registration
Nominations should be submitted by Member Associations or National Paralympic Committees only. Any direct nominations from athletes will not be accepted.
We encourage Member Associations and National Paralympic Committees to circulate the information to their respective athlete communities, so that athletes can provide their input in filling the application form, where relevant.

*Please note that an athlete can only be nominated for one workshop.

Close of Applications / Short Listing
Participation is limited. Following the closing date to submit applications of 01 November 2024, the BWF will shortlist and may interview potential candidates, before confirming their selection to attend the workshops.
