Announcement
Paris 2024 Paralympic Games – Anti-Doping Requirements
To help athletes, coaches and team managers get ready for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, the BWF is highlighting several anti-doping requirements, as requested by the IPC.
This notice will cover the following topics:
- IPC Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) Requirements – register with the IPC
- IPC Whereabouts Requirements – update the IPC, as required
- ADEL for Paris 2024 Paralympics – how to access the platform
National Federations who have athletes qualified for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games may have already been contacted by National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) about this. We strongly recommend that all athletes, coaches and support personnel spend time to go through the information to get ready for the Games in Paris.
Please make sure you forward this information onto your Paris 2024 Paralympic Games athletes, coaches and support personnel.
- IPC – Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) Requirements
The IPC would like to remind all athletes and support personnel of the Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) requirements for the upcoming Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
Key points to note are:
- ALL existing Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) certificates issued by National Anti-Doping Organisations (NADOs) or International Federations (IFs), will only be valid upon recognition by the IPC.
- If an athlete has a TUE that is not yet recognised by the IPC, please submit a request for recognition by email to [email protected] quoting the TUE reference number in ADAMS.
- You are encouraged to be proactive with this process and ensure that your respective National Paralympic Committee (NPC) submit TUE certificates to the IPC for recognition.
- Further information related to applying for a TUE and IPC recognition can be found on the TUE section of the IPC website and the Paris 2024 Anti-Doping programme web page.
- The deadline to submit the requested information is 05 August 2024.
- IPC – Whereabouts Requirements
The IPC requires NPCs to submit and maintain detailed whereabouts information for all athletes participating at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games (for anti-doping purposes).
At the same time, the IPC is also collecting information about athletes and other members of the NPC delegation who may require assistance to evacuate from the Games Village in the event of an emergency.
This information should have already been submitted by your NPC, but if updates are required, please submit to [email protected].
