PRESS RELEASE – Paris 2024 Men’s Doubles Draw Postponed
The badminton group stage draw for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be held today at BWF Headquarters on Friday 12 July 2024 at 4pm (+8 hours GMT).
Following a Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS) hearing, BWF will conduct the men’s doubles draw on another date yet to be confirmed.
The existing regulations and draw principles for men’s and women’s singles and women’s and mixed doubles remain the same.
In total, 174 athletes from 48 NOCs plus one athlete from the IOC Refugee Olympic Team have qualified for Paris.
The three remaining conditional places belonging to Howard Shu (USA), Tobias Kuenzi (SUI), and Collins Valentine Filimon (AUT) were all accepted earlier this week by their respective NOCs.
BWF has also confirmed the seeds for the Olympic badminton competition. The seedings were taken from the official BWF World Rankings published Tuesday 9 July 2024.
