ANOC WORLD BEACH GAMES 2023 Get Ready for the Bali Games!
In anticipation of the AirBadminton debut at the 2nd ANOC World Beach Games in Bali, Indonesia (5 – 12 August 2023), we are thrilled to have received huge interests from Member Associations across the 5 Continental Confederations.
Please find below a few relevant updates on the ANOC World Beach Games 2023.
ANOC World Beach Games 2023 – Bali
The AirBadminton tournament at the ANOC World Beach Games 2023 will be held at Jimbaran Beach, one of the most famous white sand beaches in Bali, from 6 to 9 August 2023.
The matches will be played in the AirBadminton Arena which will be an exciting purpose-built venue for the Games.
The 72 players who will qualify (36 men and 36 women) shall compete for the four medal events on the programme:
- Mixed Team Relay
- Men’s Triples
- Women’s Triples
- Mixed Doubles
Qualification
Based on the approved Qualification System (link), teams can either qualify through the BWF World Team Ranking (as at 3rd January 2023) or by winning any of the Triples Events at the Continental Qualification Events.
Whilst Indonesia, as host nation, shall automatically qualify, the ANOC World Beach Games Invitation Commission will also invite 2 triples (1 men and 1 women) to the Games.
Note: to be considered by the ANOC World Beach Games Invitation Commission for an invitation place, Member Associations must participate in their Continental Qualification Tournament.
Qualified Countries (BWF World Team Ranking)
The BWF is therefore pleased to announce that the first 5 countries qualified for the Games, based on the BWF World Team Ranking, are: China, Japan, Korea, Denmark and Germany.
Note: Only 3 countries per Continent can qualify via the BWF World Team Ranking.
In accordance with Section D.1.1 of the Qualification System, all 5 qualified countries (through the BWF World Team Ranking), must participate in their Continental Qualification Tournament.

Continental Qualification Events
In line with the ANOC World Beach Games 2023 Qualification System (link), the BWF is also pleased to announce the organisation of four Continental Qualification Events:
Pan America
The Continental Qualification Competition for the Pan America region will be held in Kingston, Jamaica, on 29 and 30 April 2023, alongside the Pan America Individual Continental Championships.

Europe
The European Qualification Event will be held in the town of Werkendam in the Netherlands, at the Beachsport Vereniging Werkendam, from 9 to 11 June 2023.

Asia
The Asian Qualification Event will be held in Putrajaya, (Kuala Lumpur) Malaysia from 23 to 25 June 2023.

Africa
AirBadminton will also feature at the 2nd African Beach Games 2023 in Hammamet, Tunisia from 27 to 30 June 2023. The event will serve as the African qualification tournament for the ANOC World Beach Games. Entries shall be made through your National Olympic Committee (NOC).

Note: No Continental Qualification tournament will be held for the Oceania region. As per the Qualification system, in such a case, the best ranked country on the BWF World Team Ranking (4 July 2023), shall qualify for the Games.
