BWF/WAoS Sport Management Scholarship – Deadline 30 October 2022

The BWF, in partnership with the World Academy of Sport (WAoS), is offering yet another unique education pathway opportunity for badminton athletes and aspiring administrators within the community

Four, 25 percent scholarships are available for the Bachelor of International Sport Management degree offered by WAoS and the Federation University.

This appeals to individuals looking to launch their careers in the sports industry and builds upon the Athlete Certificate and Post Graduate Certificate Scholarship Programmes previously offered by BWF and WAoS.

The Bachelor Degree in International Sports Management has two target groups:

  • Dual career athletes who have chosen a joint educational and elite sporting life; and
  • Other people employed within the badminton community (e.g. staff from BWF Member Associations).

Bachelor of International Sports Management Degree

The WAoS degree in International Sport Management is delivered in partnership with Federation University, an institution with a history spanning 150 years and consistent rankings for superior student support and graduate employment outcomes.

The fully online course can be completed in three years full-time or up to 10 years part-time. It has been developed through identifying the increasing demand from athletes to be more dual career-minded and the need from industry professionals for more flexible study options to progress within the sports industry.

Additionally, the programme recognises the importance of combining local context with an international overlay is increasingly more significant in all aspects of sports management.

This online delivery provides students with flexibility and the opportunity to study in an industry they are passionate about, freedom to study from anywhere and ability to train, compete and study at the same time.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Bachelor of International Sport Management scholarship, applicants should:

  • Have completed High School diploma (or equivalent). Transcripts are to be submitted with application.
  • An English language level of IELTS: at least 6.0 overall, with 6.0 in the written test or other equivalent proficiency certification.
  • Have a good standing with the Member Association.
