Integrity Case Announced / Reminders – Athletes’ Commission / Scholarship Programme

1.Integrity Case – Hearing Panel Decision Announced

BWF announced today the outcome of an integrity case involving two regional level players from China – Zhu Jun Hao and Zhang Bin Rong.

Both were found to have breached the 2017 BWF Code of Conduct in Relation to Betting, Wagering and Irregular Match Results during tournaments in March 2019.

Both Zhu and Zhang were suspended from all badminton activities for two years commencing 13 August 2021.

2. Deadline tonight KL Time – Athletes’ Commission Nominations

This is a final reminder that the deadline to receive nominations for the BWF Athletes’ Commission elections is midnight KL time, Friday 5 November. Member Associations and athletes can make nominations.

3. Scholarships – Bachelor of International Sport Management

On 10 September 2021, BWF announced an opportunity for scholarships for the Bachelor of International Sport Management (see announcement and details).

One (1) fully funded scholarship and four (4) 25% scholarships are available for the Bachelor of International Sport Management degree offered by World Academy of Sport (WAoS) and Federation University.

This course appeals to individuals looking to launch their careers in the sports industry and builds upon the Athlete Certificate and Post Graduate Certificate Scholarship Programmes previously offered by BWF and WAoS.
