BWF / World Academy of Sport (WAoS) – Scholarship Programmes – apply by 9 Nov

BWF in partnership with the World Academy of Sport (WaoS) have launched two scholarship programmes that will provide opportunities to learn new skills, help people improve their career opportunities and in turn, better support the communities they come from.

 

Please find enclosed information on two Scholarship Programmes for 2020:

  1. Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in International Sports Management;
  2. Athlete Certificate.

 

The Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in International Sports Management has two target groups:

  • Dual career athletes – who have chosen a joint educational and elite sporting life;and
  • Other people employed within the badminton community – for example, staff from BWF Member Associations.

The Athlete Certificate is for young athletes between 15 – 18 years of age.


  1. Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in International Sports Management

The BWF is pleased to provide information on the criteria and application process to register for the Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in International Sports Management for current and former dual career athletes, along with industry professionals working within our sport. The programme offers opportunities for interested parties to apply for a scholarship to participate in the online course which can be completed over a period of up to five years.

To be considered for a scholarship the following criteria must be met:

  • An existing undergraduate degree (e.g. bachelor degree) or a minimum of 5-8 years of relevant work experience and professional references; and
  • An English language level of IELTS: at least 6.5 overall, with 6.0 in the written test or other equivalent proficiency certification.
  • Be in good standing with their Member Association.

 

Deadline for the applications is 9 November 2020.

  1. Athlete Certificate

The BWF is pleased to provide information on opportunities to nominate aspiring young athletes to register for the online Athlete Certificate course.

The Athlete Certificate is a combination of fun and creative online sessions, that are designed to educate athletes to become successful and knowledgeable in their sporting career. The online course is open to young athletes aged between 15 to 18 years old and it can be completed within 4.5 hours.

All applicants will need to be in good standing with their Member Association.

Deadline for the applications is 9 November 2020.
