#WhiteCard Day – 6 April 2019
The 6th of April each year is International Day of Sport for Development & Peace.
BWF is promoting this and encouraging Members to recognise and celebrate International Day of Sport for Development & Peace / #WhiteCard Day on 6 April 2019 or in the lead up to the day.
If you are already planning development activities for the week leading up to 6 April – (Shuttle Time, coach education course etc), why not incorporate an activity to raise awareness of the important role sport plays in supporting peace in society. This could be as simple as taking images of your Shuttle Time course participants holding up white cards and posting this online (see how to do this and some background of #WhiteCard Day – linked here).
Peace and Sport has published resources to assist in planning activities – see examples of activities and some ideas on how to recognise the day and raise awareness www.april6.org
At last year’s Sport Accord in Bangkok, the BWF and Peace and Sport signed an MOU to collaborate on such initiatives (linked here).
