1. BWF Research Grants – Applications Close this Friday

BWF provides research grants to institutions and individuals to assist in the funding of applied sports science research in badminton.

The deadline for applications is at the end of this week – Friday 10 August 2018. More information is available on the BWF website (linked here) or see our memo of 11 June 2018.

2.  Special Olympics – seeking Information

Thank you to the 23 BWF Members who have provided us with information on the partnerships they have with Special Olympics.

Members have a last chance to let us know about your working relationship with Special Olympics in their country and your region. Please send the answers to the following questions to John Shearer [email protected] by Friday 17 August 2018

3.   Job Opportunity – Badminton Europe

Badminton Europe is seeking a Senior Manager for a full-time position to join its head office in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The Senior Manager will be responsible for the overall management of the Development and High Performance areas within Badminton Europe, including oversight of the BEC Centre of Excellence, Development Programmes, Member Structures, Para-Badminton and Women in Badminton. The work will include some travelling and some flexibility in working hours will be required. Deadline for applications is Tuesday 6 September 2018.

4.  Schedule A 2018

Each BWF Member must complete a Schedule A for 2018 before the 30 September. Completing this and sending it back to the BWF is a requirement under the BWF constitution.

The Schedule A is available for download on the BWF website (linked here).

Please complete this before midnight 30 September 2018 and send to Patricia Wong [email protected]

5.   Office Closures – Public Holiday – Friday 31 August 2018

The BWF office will be closed on the following days to observe national holidays in Malaysia.

• Wednesday 22 August – Hari Raya Haji – Eid al-Adha, also called the Festival of Sacrifice.
• Friday 31 August – Hari Merdeka Day – a day to mark Malaysia’s National Day.
