Deadline for Proposals – AGM 2016

The BWF announced today that the 2016 BWF Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday 21 May 2016 in Kunshan, Jiangsu province, China, in conjunction with the Thomas and Uber Cups, 16 – 22 May 2016.

The host hotel for the AGM will be advised to the membership at a later date as will the arrangements for visa and transport. The BWF will send out more information early in 2016 on the process for travel grants to the AGM for one delegate for each member “in good standing”.

As per Clause 15.1 of the Constitution, the BWF advises that the exact closing date for proposals for the AGM, nominations and seconding of these is midnight KL time on Friday 26 February 2016.

In accordance with Clause 15.13, Members submitting nominations, proposals or seconding these must be “in Good Standing”.

Clause 7.19 states that a Member in Good Standing, is a Member who:

  • does not have any subscriptions due (Clause 26);
  • is not under suspension (Clauses 13.5 –13.10) and;
  • has submitted a completed Schedule A to the Federation for the current year (Clause13.1).

 

Please note that voting strength for the next four years is calculated as per Clause 15.21 (see below).


Key Dates towards the AGM

Friday 26 February 2016 – deadline for proposals to the AGM / seconding (Clause 15.1 – BWF constitution – 12 weeks before the AGM)

Friday 1 April 2016 – deadline for Notice of the AGM to be sent to Members (Clause 15.12 – BWF constitution – 7 weeks before the AGM)

Friday 15 April 2016 – deadline for amendments to proposals to the AGM (Clause 15.14 – BWF constitution – 5 weeks before the AGM)

Friday 20 May 2016 – Member’s Forum

Saturday 21 May 2016 – BWF AGM  (Starting at 1000)
