Career Opportunities @ the BWF

On 10 June BWF advertised five position at the BWF.  We are looking for talented individuals to join our diverse team in Kuala Lumpur. Four of these jobs are in the Events Department.

  1. Chief Operating Officer (COO) – position description / requirements

Reporting to the Secretary General, the COO is responsible for the day-to-day administration and operations of the BWF, providing management, guidance, oversight and support for a range of functional areas: the Finance Department, Administration Department, BWF digital development projects and the BWF Integrity Unit.

The COO is a key person in the BWF management group to drive the operational and strategic future of the BWF and therefore BWF is searching for a person with strong and effective leadership skills at the highest level with a proven ability to inspire and motivate others.


  1. Tournament Managerposition description / requirements

The Tournament Manager will be responsible for the effective implementation of the BWF host agreements with each Member Association hosting a BWF World Tour event.


  1. Head of Technical Officialsposition description / requirements

The Head Technical Officials is responsible for day-to-day management of the Technical Officials (TO) programmes, including; day-to-day TO operations and tournament assignments; management and development of the professional technical officials workforce; policy development; innovative initiatives within the TOs area; and TO education and development pathways.


  1. Technical Events Managerposition description / requirements

Technical Events Manager is responsible for the effective implementation of World Ranking, and Tournament and Draw Management systems for badminton, Para badminton, and AirBadminton including; tournament sanctioning, BWF calendar, entries, withdrawal and penalty processes, prize money processes, player transfer processes, seeding and draw processes, results management, and World Rankings; effective communication with tournament host organisations and Member Associations; and supporting the development of all competition Laws, regulations, and policies.


  1. Technical Events Manager – Growth Disciplines – position description / requirements

AirBadminton tournament delivery, support to Para badminton tournament delivery when required, working closely with Continental Confederations towards the development and sustainability of Continental Circuit tournaments for both AirBadminton and Para badminton, as well as support to athletes’ services where needed.
