Anti-Doping Education – YONEX BWF World Junior Championships 2024
The YONEX BWF World Junior Championships 2024 will be hosted in Nanchang, China later this year.
- Mixed Team Championships (Suhandinata Cup) – 30 September to 05 October 2024
- Individual Championships (Eye-Level Cups) – 07 to 13 October 2024
Please note that every individual player must complete anti-doping education before they participate in the 2024 Championships (teams and/or individuals).
This is an eligibility requirement to participate in the Championships. See below for more information on this.
Read the below and start planning to work with your National Anti-Doping Organisation (NADO) and the BWF to complete this requirement no later than Friday 20 September 2024.
Please circulate this internally to the team managers / coaches going to Nanchang.
- Online information Session – for coaches and Managers
The BWF is hosting an online information session about the requirements. This is for managers and coaches going to the YONEX BWF World Junior Championships 2024.
- Online Information session – Thursday 27 June @ 20:00 (8:00PM) Kuala Lumpur time.
- This will provide information on anti-doping / anti-match manipulation education.
- This will help you plan your anti-doping education sessions for junior players and support personnel (coaches / team managers) going to the YONEX BWF World Junior Championships 2024.

- Anti-Doping Education – a condition of participation
Under Clause 17.2 of the BWF Anti-Doping Regulations, the BWF has selected the YONEX BWF World Junior Championships 2024 as an event where players must complete anti-doping educational activities before they participate in the event in China.
This means that every player must complete an anti-doping education course before they arrive in China for the Championships. This is a mandatory requirement to be eligible to compete at the YONEX BWF World Junior Championships 2024.
Members must provide BWF with proof of completion of the anti-doping education training for each player going to Nanchang, no later than Friday 20 September 2024.
- Education Options – 3 choices
There are 3 options for you to consider. The education can be face to face or an online course.
If your players have completed an anti-doping course in the last 18 months (January 2023 – June 2024), we can recognise this if it meets the minimum standards, so they do not need to repeat this again.

Contact your NADO
Arrange for the NADO to deliver an anti-doping education session for your Junior Squad / World Championships Team.
This session must:
– Be delivered by a trained educator / anti-doping expert.
– Cover the 11 topics in World Anti-Doping Code Clause 18.2.
The delivery method can be face-to-face or virtual.
The NADO must provide a certificate, or letter to the Member Association with these details 1) date of the course, 2) names of the participants who successfully completed this.
Email the BWF Head of Integrity the confirmation from the NADO that the players have completed the course / education session.

ADEL – WADA’s Anti-Doping Education & Learning platform.
Each player completes an online course, passes a test, and receives a Certificate.
The required course is available in 26 languages Arabic, Azerbaijan, Bahasa Indonesia, Bulgarian, Burmese, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Khmer, Lao, Mongolian, Portuguese, Russian, Serbian, Slovenian, Spanish, Tagalog, Thai, Ukrainian, Uzbek and Vietnamese.

Each player must go to this website and register.
Complete the course in your own time. It can take about 2 hours. You can start this – then stop and come back to this at later time – flexible learning.
Complete the course, pass the test, and make sure you get the certificate and sends to the Member Association.

The BWF has access to the database of ADEL and can monitor who has completed the course.

Have any of your junior players (who may be selected for the YONEX BWF World Junior Championships) completed an anti-doping education course in the last 18 months (January 2023 – June 2024)?
If so, BWF may be able to recognise this and give credit for this, so no new education activity is needed before the YONEX BWF World Junior Championships
The course must:
– Have been delivered by a trained educator / expert.
– Have covered the 11 topics in the World Anti-Doping Code Clause 18.2.
Some of your junior players may have completed the International-Level Athletes Education Programme already (see the middle column).
Contact the BWF Head of Integrity to get the course / anti-doping education approved as meeting the requirement for competing at the World Junior Championships.

- Coaches and Team Managers – recommended course
BWF strongly recommends that coaches and team managers also complete an online anti-doping course before the YONEX BWF World Junior Championships.
We recommend they complete this through ADEL – the WADA anti-doping online learning platform.

- Get Ready for the WJCs – Start Planning Today!
Planning is very important. Here are some suggestions about getting ready for the BWF World Junior Championships and making sure each player completes anti-doping education before going to Nanchang.
