Anti-Doping Information Session Get Ready – BWF Para Badminton World Championships 2024

Dear Members, Continental Confederations, National Paralympic Committees and BWF Recognised Para Sports Organisations,

Thank you to the administrators, coaches, and team managers who attended the Anti-Doping Information Session on Tuesday 21 November 2023.

As you know, every player must complete anti-doping education before participating in the BWF Para Badminton World Championships 2024 (see our Notice of 10 November, linked here and also attached).

If your team manager did not attend, they can watch a recording of the information session on the Para Badminton World Championships page (linked here).

The information session on Tuesday 21 November 2023 focused on how to plan for anti-doping education programmes for players who are participating in the BWF Para Badminton World Championships 2024 in Pattaya, Thailand. The session included information on the following:

  • Why is Anti-Doping education important?
  • Successful Elements – Education Programmes.
  • Requirements for the BWF Para Badminton World Championships 2024.
  • Options to achieve these requirements.
  • 11 mandatory topics for education – anti-doping information.
  • Resources / communication / inspiration.

  1. About the Championships – what are the education requirements

The BWF Para Badminton World Championships 2024 will be hosted in Pattaya, Thailand early next year.

This is an eligibility requirement to participate in the Championships, as per BWF Anti-Doping Regulations, Article 17.2.

Please note that every individual player must complete a minimum standard of anti-doping education before they participate in the Championships.

Start planning to work with your NADO and the BWF to complete this requirement no later than Friday 09 February 2024.
