Tournament Update

Further to our most recent tournament update of 8 July (linked here), please find enclosed an update on two tournaments.

Please pass this information on internally to the relevant people.

Cancellations

There are two cancellations of tournaments in New Zealand.

1. BARFOOT & THOMPSON New Zealand Open 2022 – Auckland – 22–27 Nov. 2022

BWF confirms that the above tournament has been cancelled. The BARFOOT & THOMPSON New Zealand Open 2022 is a Super 300 HSBC BWF World Tour tournament.

Badminton New Zealand has concluded that it was no longer feasible to host the tournament this year due to organisational complexities connected to COVID-19.

 Manawatu International 2022 – Palmerston North – 01 – 04 Dec. 2022 (Int. Series

The above tournament has also been cancelled due to continuing complexities in hosting the tournament related to COVID-19. This decision has been made in consultation with Badminton Oceania and the host association.
