BWF and Special Olympics International Encourage National Pledge Signings Ahead of World Games 2023

Following the Memorandum of Understanding signed by BWF and Special Olympics International in 2019 (link), we encourage Members Associations and National Special Olympics Programmes with confirmed athlete quota, to collaborate with each other through the signing of a joint pledge of support, in the lead up to the 2023 Special Olympics World Games in Berlin (17 – 25 June).

Attached is the letter signed by the BWF President and Special Olympics International President outlining details of the continued partnership between our organisations, as well as actions leading up to the Special Olympics World Games 2023.

Special Olympics programmes offer a grass roots community structure with expertise in coaching individuals with an intellectual disability and the conduct of inclusive sport. In exchange, the Members of BWF can provide free access to resources and training for coaches, which support the delivery of safe, fun and inclusive badminton.
