BWF Announces Enhanced Events Department Structure

BWF has announced an enhanced Events Department structure following an extensive recruitment process to fill the vacant position of Events Director.

Two new Deputy Events Director positions have been created, each heading up a core stream within the department – 1) “Tournament Management” and 2) “Technical Events Management”. Both new positions report to the BWF Secretary General.

The BWF also announces that Selvam Supramaniam and Chris Trenholme have taken up the Deputy Events Director positions.

This forward-looking approach ensures continuous and strong management across all areas of the department and it allows opportunities for growth of this largest operational area of the BWF. AirBadminton competitions and expanded events servicing are areas for future growth.


International events servicing and the technical and commercial delivery of events is a core priority area for the BWF, and the two streams lead by existing BWF staff with extensive experience ensures continuity for this core strategic area of the BWF.
