BWF Para Badminton World Championships 2022 – Tokyo

The BWF Para Badminton World Championships 2022 is scheduled for 1 – 6 November 2022. This will be the 13^th edition of the Championships and will be hosted in Tokyo, Japan.

Eligibility Date

As per Section 5.5.6 BWF Para Badminton World / Continental Championships (linked here), Clause 8.4.1 states that:

“The date of the Para Badminton World Rankings to be used for deciding eligibility for the Para Badminton World Championships shall be determined by the BWF and communicated to the Members Association, Association and organisations recognised by the BWF. This date for any Para Badminton World Championships shall be called the “Eligibility Date”.

The BWF has determined that the eligibility date will be Tuesday 14^th June 2022. This is following the completion of the Canada Para Badminton International 2022.

The World Rankings published on this date will be used to determine the qualifiers for the World Championships. The ranking publish on this date will take into account results from:

• BWF Para Badminton World Championships 2019;
• Para Badminton Continental Championships 2018 / 2020;
• Para Badminton Internationals from 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 (unless tournaments are no longer being calculated).
