Next BWF World Championships Huelva, Spain – 29 November – 5 Dec 2021

The BWF announced today that the BWF World Championships 2021, traditionally scheduled in August, will take place at the end of the year in Huelva, Spain, from Monday 29 November to Sunday 5 December 2021.

The Championships will take place in the Carolina Marin Stadium, the arena named after the three-time world champion in her native city of Huelva.

The BWF and Spanish Badminton Federation had discussed dates for the Championships that were later in 2021, in what turns out to be a full calendar. The dates will allow the BWF World Championships to shine brightly in what will be a condensed sports calendar for 2021 with the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games being hosted between July and September 2021.

The announcement will allow players to have clear focuses for two pinnacle events in – the Olympic Games and World Championships.
