BWF Announces Some More Tournaments Suspended in May / June / July 2020

The BWF gives notice that it has taken the necessary steps, in close consultation and agreement with its Continental Confederations and Host Member Associations, to suspend a number of HSBC BWF World Tour, BWF Tour and other BWF-sanctioned tournaments currently scheduled to take place in May, June and July.

Suspended Tournaments

Grade 2 International Tournaments:

  • CROWN GROUP Australian Open 2020, Sydney, Australia – 02 – 07 June
  • TOYOTA Thailand Open 2020 – Bangkok, Thailand – 09 – 14 June
  • BLIBLI Indonesia Open 2020 – Jakarta, Indonesia – 16 – 21 June
  • Russian Open 2020 – Vladivostok, Russia – 07 – 12 July

Grade 3, Junior and Para Badminton Tournaments:

  • LI-NING Denmark Challenge 2020, Farum, Denmark – 07 – 10 May
  • FZ FORZA Slovenia International 2020 – Medvode, Slovenia – 13 – 16 May
  • YONEX Latvia International 2020 – Jelgava, Latvia – 28 – 31 May
  • CIPUTRA HANOI – YONEX SUNRISE Vietnam International Challenge 2020 – Honoi, Vietnam 02 – 07 June
  • RSL Lithuanian International 2020 – Panevezys, Lithuanian – 04 – 07 June
  • Canada Para Badminton International 2020 – Location TBC – 09 – 14 June
  • Russian International Junior White Nights 2020 – Gatchina, Russia – 25 – 28 June
  • White Nights 2020 – Gatchina, Russia – 01 – 05 July
  • All England Junior Badminton Championships 2020 – Birmingham, ENG – 16 – 19 July

 

The health, safety and wellbeing of all athletes, their entourage, officials and the greater badminton community remains the top priority for all relevant parties.


BWF Tournament Calendar

The BWF is working closely with Member Associations and Continental Confederations on possible new dates for tournaments at a later time in 2020.

BWF will inform the membership of any updates / new dates for postponed tournaments. Members should also keep an eye of the Calendar of Tournaments on the BWF website (linked here) to check the status of tournaments.
